Hi, i am an 18 year old male. I have diabetes and my triglycerides are not as ideal as they should be. My doctor said this is likely the cause of the flare ups. I have an attack of pancreatitis a couple times a year and it is excruciating. It hurts all thru my abdomen and back and up into my chest. That being said i help in taking care of my grandfather and i do not drive at the moment. I dont have anypne available to take me to the doctor/ hospital. I am in extreme pain. How can i make myself more comfortable? I feel like im dying.

Hello, how are you feeling? From what I know of pancreatitis, when you get the attacks, you need to go on a clear liquid diet, drink plenty of water and rest your pancreas. A question--do you have severe headaches and heart palpitations? My son, who is older than you has been diagnosed with pancreatitis but his symptoms are different.

Hi my husband has been suffering with pancreatitis since may 2011, doctors are insitent that it caused from alcohol abuse however he is a tea total , he does however take quite a lot of other medication for other problems these being. diazepam,co-codamol,ranatadine and lately mirtazapine, can these be in anyway related? as we are now seriously concerened as we feel the doctors are not treating him properly as they believe he is drinking alochol?

for any type of pancreatitis attack, you need to go to the emergency room for pain management. I've had it for 14 years, and have had a whipple done. you also need to stop drinking anything, and DO NOT EAT!!!!! it will only aggravate your swollen pancreas and the pain will be unbelievable.
