i had a baby 2 yrs ago and ever since when i have sex it hurts, like he's hitting something on the right side. it's really painful. i've been to the family r who said i had bacteria and gave me cream to clear it up. then when i finished the meds, i went ot my GYN b/c it still hurt. he said there was no bacteria and that "there is no way to know what is causing the pain."
i also have pain in my abdomen when i'm not having sex. just during the day. some days it hurts more than others and i can tell, if we have sex that night if it will hurt or not.
it feels like a sharp stabbing pain or a sharp ache.
i thought it could be when i was ovulating but it just seems really irregular...

any ideas as to what this is?

thanks

You may want to consider getting a second opinion from another gyn. A pelvic exam would be prudent to check for any abnormalities. Pain during intercourse is not normal. Telling you that there is no way to know what is causing the pain is nonsense and a cop out. I can assure you that if a man complained of painful sex a cause and cure would be found. Find another gyn.

I agree. I would go to another doctor for a second opinion. If you are having pain and the doctor is ignoring you and shrugging it off, she is probably not the right doctor for you. Doctors are someone who you need to be able to trust to listen to you when you aren't feeling well.

even if you have to go to a clinic, get it checked out. maybe at the clinic they
can help you locate a facility with discounted ultra sounds. good luck.
