Painful sex: I have pain every time I have sex. It can be, but not always on entry. It is always after sex. From my pelvic bone downwards feels bruised and swollen. tender to touch. This then means I cant have sex again for about another 48 hours - at least. I have had a child & an episiotomy. It has definitely got a lot worse since then. What causes this? What can I do to prevent it?

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
You will need to have a repeat check done by your gynecologist/obstetrician to rule out nerve involvement, pelvic congestion, endometriosis, adenomyosis, PID, infections, vaginal dryness, etc., that could be responsible for the painful intercourse.
Once the exact cause is identified, further treatment options can be discussed to help you out. If infection is detected, get your partner also treated simultaneously to prevent re-infection.
Take care.
