Q: Painful sex after vaginal partial hysterectomy

I had a vaginal partial hysterectomy 6 months ago and I have not been able to have painless sex. It doesn't feel the same inside. I asked my husband how it felt and he said it felt rough inside of me. Is this normal and what can I do about it?
Thank you,

Lori

I know what you are going through. It's been 5 months for me and I dread having sex because of the pain. I don't enjoy it at all now. I'm 27 and I feel like my life has been ruined from this. It is causing problems in my marriage. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them. I don't know what to do!

Are you using a lot of lubrication?...In order for sex to be enjoyed you have to open up sexually as you used to be...It can't be just plain insertion...This would cause friction as you would not be sexually ready for entry...It sounds to me like both of you are not becoming sexually stimulated to start...If so, turn yourself on...Help him out...Go back to hot times and go from there...Man can't do everthing..Woman must use her imagination too....Read a Porn magazine or watch a movie...Hard as it may be to say, stop feeling sorry for yourself...You are all the women that you used to be before this surgery....Now prove it to yourself...

I wish you both well, but our mind is the greatest sex organ that there is....Use it...I send both of you my best wishes...

I have the same problem. A change of attitude, loob and porn aren't going to do it for me. The painful intercourse is due to scarring and a vagina that has been re-sized too small by my ob/gyn. I'm going back to my surgeon to see what can be done. This is impossible.
