I am a 21 yr old woman who miscarried last year.. Since then I have not gotten pregnant since. I have such extremely painful periods to the point where sometimes i vomit, I cannot stand, no matter what i do its excruciating pain. Midol and Advil and stuff does work, however i have read that periods are not supposed to be that bad. I thought it was normal. Also my periods are NOT regular at all.. Sometimes they are 28 days, then 30 days, then 36 days, one time they were every 15 days, occasionaly ill miss one all together, and i wont get it until my next one is due. My doctor checked my FSH level, progesterone, estrogen and my thyroid and everyhing checks out. What else could I possibly look for? What could be wrong? Could I have PCOS? This cannot be "normal". Also i have acne that does not go away, growing some facial hair and i am over weight. I keep getting boils on my hips, breast and arm pit. I have panic attacks and shortness of breath.. I dont know what to do next.. there is just a whole world of problems right now. maybe i just need a D&C but my periods have ALWAYS been this way..

A friend of mine has Polycystic ovarian syndrome and I know that it can cause some of these symptoms (weight gain, facial hair, irregular periods, trouble conceiving) maybe something to look into....

Hi,

I have to also share an almost identical story.....I have always had painful periods....but usually have been very regular (most of my life). I also have always suffered from acne, since the time I got my period, and still do, which I am now 32. Last year I suffered an early miscarriage, and since then my periods have become more irregular and my PMS (such as bloating, cramping, acne) has worsened. It sounds like we have some similar hormonal problems occurring. I have also thought about whether it is PCOS. We both seem to have the key signs of this. Perhaps have an ultrasound check of your ovaries. I have heard progesterone creme, may help in obtaining a pregnancy again. If you are not looking to get pregnancy, then the pill might help you. It regulated my acne and painful periods, although sadly when I came off, the symptoms gradually reappeared again. I am going to try to see a doctor about my issues as well. I hope things improve for you!
