I'm 17 years old and a few days before my period and during my period i suffer really bad lower backache. My periods are usually really heavy and always have been.
I know theres nothing i can do to totally illiminate the pain but i was wondering if there was anything i could do/use to help ease the pain sometimes its just unbarable. I've been to the docters but all they do is shove paracetomol my way which really doesnt seem to work. Sad
Any ideas or tips on whats best?
Thank you

Yes, definitely you can reduce the pain. 2 things I know about, one is to take omega-3 fatty acid supplements on a regular basis, and ESPECIALLY the week before you're due to get your period. The second thing works even better, but it's a lot harder. Stop eating sugar entirely the week before your period. Obviously candies and cakes and colas are out, but also don't eat anything that lists sugar or high fructose corn syrup in the ingredients for the week before you're due. It really works.

Hi,
I have suffered from painful periods as well. What has helped me was exercise. Now I don't take pain pills to ease the pain. I exercise more right before my period and during. It has cut down on a lot of pain. Why this helps, beats me because sometimes I don't feel like exercising but the drive to no more pain makes me do it and to be healthy.....
