Painful pap smear and sex
Posted: 05-24-08 15:02pm

I've had fairly uncomfortable pap smears in the past, probably because my cervix is hidden. it is tilted badly enough that the first doctor who tried to get a sample couldn't even find the thing. this time, the pressure and pain were really bad and it took her a long time to be able to complete the exam.

and THEN, I had sex for the first time twice after that. That too didn't feel great. It felt like he was hitting something deep inside which I don't think is the typical sort of pain women are supposed to experience their first time. i also spotted a little afterwards both times.

Is this a leftover from the exam, a "first time" issue, or the fact that my innards are screwed up?

Have you tried other positions or even tried not having your guy go as deep?

Honestly, any pain/blood you've had on your frist time could have been from any of your three options. You could have been a little irratated from your pelvic exam or he bumped your cervix a little faster because its in a weird spot. As for the first time possibilty, it again would depend. I had different pains my first time that were gone the second time around.

Try some different things, I'm sure you just need to find the right angle or depth and things will go better. If not, then check in again with a doctor. I hope things work out!
