I was eating dinner two days ago and when I swallowed I had a sudden sharp pain that went from the left of my tongue to this area of my upper throat where some glands are. It was very intense for a few minutes an then began to subside. When I pressed my finger to the spot in my throat there was pain and it continues to be painful when I eat things, causing the same spasm of pain and a slight ticklink in my ear. It seems to correlate with having eaten something particularly flavorful and can go from mildly discomforting to very painful. Also the pain can be in conjunction with a coppery tasting release of saliva.

It should be noted that I have an abcess in one of my teeth that I am taking penicilin for, however there were no syptoms previous to, and I'd been taking the medication for at least 24 hours, and the infection had been persisting for a week.
