within the last couple of weeks I have developed spots around my genitals and upper thighs. the spots are beginning to spread to other random areas of my body. the spots are slightly raised with a small White centre although these have changed around the genitals to a deep red or even purple colour. that area is now all one discoloured patch and I causing a lot of discomfort. I have severe itching and sharp pain in this area. although the spots on the rest of my body are unsightly, the do not cause any discomfort. also my dischage has a slightly stronger scent. could this be a yeast infection?

This doesn't sound like a yeast infection to me. I would definitely get it checked out by a doctor.
