It showed up a couple of days ago right in the crease where the ear meets the head, just above my earlobe. The bump is about the size of a pea and just under the skin. It aches constantly and is especially painful when touched. What could it be? It's not a pimple, and I'm fairly certain it's not a swollen lymph node, because I've had swollen lymph nodes behind my ears before and they were never this painful. Someone on another board warned me that it could be cancer, but I'd like a second opinion. Should I see a doctor?

No, it's not cancer. Like you, I too have had swollen lymph nodes in the past but this time I have additional ones in the crease of my right ear. Your body is trying to fight of an infection, that's all. It takes time as the process is a natural one and hence a very slow one. So don't panic.
