since about september i have not been going to the bathroom right. it really hurt and i felt like i was constipated. recently i have been going regularly but it still hurts at first then the pain subsides as i finish. 15 minutes later though i have burning in the anal area. i dont know if its hemorrhoids or not cause i dont feel anything on the outside of the rectum and i heard internal hemorrhoids dont hurt. i am 23 but i am afraid to go to the doctor because i dont know what to expect. i dont know if i can handle the "finger" because i had a bad experience at the hospital when i was young due to sever stomach cramping and the doctor using his finger to pop a gas bubble.

what do they do at the doctor's office when you go in for something like this?

I have just had surgery. Yes the Dr will use his finger, followed by a really uncomfortble device that allows him to inspect the anal canal better. It's rough, but something that you have to do to see whats going on down there. I had to have surgery and have never been in so much pain. I keep telling myself that once recovered, I will never have to suffer as I did with hemorrhoids again. There is a goal, but right now I have to just take the pain killers and move as little as possible! Go to the Dr, expect the inspection (just remember to breath and relax) and hopefully it won't result in surgery. They have other options that are for stage 2 that are less painful. Good Luck!
