Q: Painful and Bloody Bowel Movements

Please help me! I have had hemmroids for years. I had blood clots in my hemmroids one year and had to have the blood clots removed at an emergency room. They have started bothering me again this year and recently I am scared to even go to the bathroom because it is very painful and there is always blood. It feels like they are tearing the outside and inside of my rectum. The blood is not in my stool even though mucus is in my stool. The blood is on the outside and comes off in the toilet and on my tissue. What could be wrong with me? I don't have any insurance so please tell me if it is bad enough for me to go to the emergency room and seek help.

hello the fact that you have had medical help with this problem i would return and get checked up.
I so understand how you feel and the fear of not wanting to move your bowels for pain.
stick to good sources of fruit and fibre vegetables and whole grain and dink 6 glasses of water a day this helps keep stools softer.
My medication morphine constipates me badly and i had to learn to change eating habits.
I still have a pile or hemarroid that bleeds but usually get relief when it does and still use a good anusol cream to help shrink them before they get too bad.
good luck hope this helps you.

Thanks for your advice. It is hard to seek medical advice on a subject like this.
