I am 5 wks post op from abdominal Hysterectomty. Only removed uterus.
I stated feeling more pain in my 4th weeks.Dr did CT scan and showed nothing so he said I should be fine. The pain is in my lower left side and now going around to my back. I am in so much much pain that the meds are not really helping. Taking tylenol and aleve as much as I can. I don't know what to do since the Dr said he thinks I'll be fine. I know that the pain is really getting too me. Any advice much appreciated.

Hi Julieg40 and welcome to ehealth:

I think with having the Abdominal Hysterectomy, the pain is much worse than having it vaginally...I hurt for quite a while...I recall calling a nurse friend of mine as I was sure that the doctor was missing something...She told me to hang in there...She said that they move everything around inside you so it takes a while for everything to find it's way back in order...Also told me that it was the inside stitches that were healing that cause a lot of the problem....

All I can say is that it gets better....But it will take time...Good luck...

I have had the same problems. It is SO aggrevating..
I am 8 weeks out from a LAVH. I also had the CT scan at 4 weeks out.
It is very aggrevating.
It is better than it was at 5 weeks.
I am headed back to the doc again.
They said maybe one of the Macall support
stitches may have come undone..???? IDK
Also, if you have Fibro or IBS, the surgery can aggrevate the
condition.
