Q: Pain under rib cage

Hi,

I've seen two doctors, been for an ultrsound scan (for possible kidney or gall bladder issues-none found) and have been put on cocodomol and now I'm on a medication for possible Gastritis. However I've been on that for 3 weeks now and it's not made a difference.

I'm trying to see a doctor asap (earlist appointment I could get is 4th Nov-I'm ringing every day for a cancellation) as I am in a lot of pain every single morning, any time from 4 a.m. onwards...I am woken up with immense pain, it's under my rib cage on both sides at the front mainly, no matter what position I'm in the pain is not eleviated.

I've had this now for about 3 months, it is relentless, I can count on one hand the number of times I've not had the problem.

It's a constant pain, sharp and grappling, when I am mobile it starts to where off. It never happens during the day. I'm thinking that it's only occuring at night/early morning because I'm lying down, something relating to weight or pressure when I'm in that position.

I've had a few days off work as I can't function due to being spaced on the pain killers and incredibly tired for being awake from 4 in the morning in pain that does not go away.

Ideas as to what this could be would be wonderful, thankyou.
