hi, about 2 years ago i developed this ripping sensation around my entire rib cage front to back...it felt like a scab was being ripped every day..no outside signs appeared until 1 year ago..it looked like fluid filled welts on my ribs and back by kidneys' both sides..well now those fluid filled welts have a hardening under them around my hips and both sides of the ribs ..its just getting worse..my drs are at a loss...nothing seems to work..they have a darkening on them and now the pain is in the bone..although the ripping sensation was so painful this bone pain feels like i was running for miles ..i also have stinging all around my belly..i do have lupus and sjorgens, but the drs say those diseases would not cause this..i am always tired and i just dont no what to do..please any information on what this could be would be greatly appreciated..thank you.....mary

Mary's Lupus Pain
Oh, Mary, I feel for ya girl. First of all, know that you'll be in my prayers! Secondly, if your docs are puzzled, keep talking to them to investigate more, or find another doc that will partner with you. I have lupus too, and have belly pain like a bee sting type feeling, across my abdomen. Your chest wall pain might be inflammation or pluresy - really common during a flare. Rash could be from lupus flare, too. I also wondered about shingles when you described the rash & the pain. Have you ever had chicken pox? If so, then your immune system can go a little nuts and you end up with shingles. Hurts like heck, but can be treated with anti-viral meds if caught early enough. Either way, know you aren't alone and that you're NOT CRAZY!! You know your body well enough to know somethings not right. Maybe this isn't the right rheumatologist for you.Remember also that autoimmune things like lupus can sometimes take forever to figure out, even by the best docs. It's a process, not just one simple test. Please try to hang in there and know I'll be prayn for pain relief for you! Hope this helps!
