Pain Relief for TMJ and Tinnitus Symptoms

My 17 yo son was just diagnosed with TMJ by a dentist specializing in TMJ and craniofacial pain. He has a mouth guard. The doctor also believed the nerve was \"firing\" and causing the pain such that he cannot go to school. He prescribed pamelor for that. We have been on this regiment including calcium/magnesium and hot compresses, massages, trying to reduce stress and eating softer foods and nothing has helped. We\'ve been at this for almost 3 weeks. He now cannot sleep very well and the original problem of tinnitus is worse. We are also trying to do the pressure point massage to help. I gave him Vicodin and percocet which didn\'t touch the pain. Nothing has worked. Any ideas you could give me would be appreciated.
