Q: Pain 8 months after shoulder surgery

I have had three surgeries on my right shoulder in the past 5 years. The first was to repair a torn labrium, the second was because the capsule was tightened too much in the first surgery and to clean up arthritis, the last one was to repair a torn rotator cuff and decompression subacrominal space. In the last 3 months, I've started having pain again. I've tried taking ibuprofin and doing some of the physical therapy exercises again so I don't loose the range of motion that I worked so hard to regain. Along with the pain, my shoulder pops when I reach across my body or above my head and pain again while lying down. I made an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon, but can't get in for 6 weeks. I don't know what to do in the meantime.

Do just what you are doing...Take a pain pill and rest it...Don't overdo on the therapy but stay with it...My husband had something like this happen on his left shoulder...It seemed it was scar tissue inside and it took a while to stretch it out...

Good luck,
Caroline
