Q: Pain killers and physical therapy versus surgical therapy
asked by: DoctorQuestion on September 5th, 2008
I have been prescribed Tramadol and Meloxicam for my chronic back pain. Trouble is, they do not work for my pain at all. when I contact my doctor, all he does is suggest prescribing Vicodin. Vicodin has less strength than tramadol, and also, you cannot take acetametaphine with Meloxicam (very severe side effects). I was wondering, should I suggest a certain medicine or get a doctor that will actually give 2 birds about my pain not being treated properly? Please help.

It is obviously that painkillers and physical therapy are not effective any more. You also became addicted to Tramadol and Vicodin. It seems that it's a time to try a surgical therapy.

You should consult an neurosurgeon about your condition as soon as possible.
