Q: Pain in spermatic cord

Hi,
Wondered if anyone could enlighten me...
I had a vasectomy 11 days ago and all seemed well up until 3-4 days ago when I started to feel pain in the tubes(spermatic cord) attatched to my left testicle which also felt very swollen and "squishy" (the tubes not the testicle) once the pain started.
I had a bit of a "rummage" with my testicle just to see if it had twisted or anything, the pain seems to have eased off to an ache now but still hurts a little.
It doesnt matter if I wear boxer shorts or tight pants as neither help relieve the pain. In fact, I was told to wear tight (normal style) pants after the op but this seemed to make the pain worse so put on some boxer shorts which relieved the pain for a while but it makes no difference now.
I had another feel today and now the spermatic cord feels quite flat and hard/stiff.
Could I have just strained myself which has caused the pain or could it be something entirely different? ie: infection etc...?
Thank you for any help/advice you can give.
Trevor
