Q: pain in right upper abdomen

Just a few days ago I started having very sharp pain in my right upper abdomen. It hurts mostly by movement. When I am still it doesn't hurt. I am afraid it could be something with my liver? (It's right at that area) Only thing different in last few days - lots of 'fooling around' with boyfriend...so I don't know if I just pulled something or what. Very painful on any movement.
Would this kind of pain have anything to do with cirrhosis of the liver?
Thanks

There are many things that could cause abdomen pain. Gallstones sometimes cause a cramping pain in the mid to upper right abdomen. Do you have any other symptoms that go along with the pain, such as fever, nausea, jaundice (yellowing of skin), etc?

Here is a list of symptoms for gallstones:

Abdominal pain in the right upper or middle upper abdomen:
May be recurrent
May be sharp, cramping, or dull
May spread to the back or below the right shoulder blade
May be made worse by fatty or greasy foods
Occurs within minutes of a meal
Fever
Yellowing of skin and whites of the eyes (jaundice)

If your pain continues, I would not hesitate to see your doctor.
