Q: Pain in right ovary

Please could someone give me some advice on whether I should visit a doctor or not. My doctor is not very friendly or helpful and when the other local doctor opens its doors to new patients I am hoping to re-register.

I am 28; I think I’m pretty healthy. I am 10 stone, 5 foot 3 inches. I run 30-35 kilometres a week and I eat a varied diet mostly vegetarian in nature but I will eat chicken or fish at least once a week.

3 years ago I had abnormal cells on my cervix which were removed by local laser surgery, other than broken arm, foot I have healthy medical history. I have always had quite light periods but the past 6 months they have lasted no longer than 2 days. The 2nd day is very light. The first day of my period I experience extremely painful period pain; this has been gradually increasing over the last 6 months.

During the month I experience sharp pains in my ovaries, mostly my right ovary. I am aware that this happens when a woman ovulates but this happens to me several times a month. Sometimes it feels like I have been kicked and I will double over for a short while until it passes.

My stomach can distend and bloat very easily; sometimes I look like I am 6 months pregnant and when this happens I get a dull back pain in my kidney area.

I urinate frequently, to the point that it feels excessive. I need urinate approx 5-10 mins after every drink and I have to get out of bed at night to go to the toilet.

This past couple of months I have feel very lethargic and I am starting to lose my appetite and become apathetic. I don’t understand why, I usually find exercise makes me feel so energetic but recently I have barely been able to bring myself to go for a run. I am constantly cold at work, especially my hands and feet, I am miserable because everyone in our office is opening the window whilst I am shivering.

Please someone give me some advice, I have been taking vitamin supplements and trying to eat ,more fruit and vegetables but I don’t know what else to do. My doctor’s surgery scares me, they are not very sympathetic and it is almost impossible getting an appointment without a months notice.

Does anyone have an idea what’s wrong with me and whether it’s worth pursuing? I don’t want to waste anyone’s time.
