I am 34 and have recently benn experiencing extremely painful periods and spotting during the month (esp after intercourse or after driving in a 4x4). I have perviously had CIN 1 (burnt out by lazer) then had my first child and CIN 3 (cone biopsy to remove) then had my second child. I have since had my tubes tied (2002). Ihave been going for regular check-ups and no further problems until now. I had a pap smear and blood taken to test hormonal levels in February and both test came back perfectly normal. On physical examination my gyne said my ovaries are of normal size and he didn't feel any cysts or abnormal growths. So why, if all these tests and examinations came back normal, has my cycle changed from 4 days (only 2nd being painful) to a period that lasts approx 7 - 9 days, is extremely painful (also with sharp pains in the area of my ovaries), very heavy and also spotting during the month? I am frustrated because I know things have changed and feel that there may be an underlying problem, but the tests have come back normal? Is there something they are missing? Are there other tests I need to take? Please help
