Hi, I've been having pain in my lower left pelvic area that doesn't feel normal. I get sharp shooting pains that usually prevent me from standing for long periods of time and it seems to get worse right before my period starts, I feel like I'm going to throw up.

I feel like there is swollen tissue on that side as well and during sexual intercourse my husband says when he fingers me deep inside to the left he can feel like there is something there.

Go to your gyn. It sounds like an ovarian cyst. Cysts can increase and decrease in size depending upon the hormonal level during your cycle. Only your doctor can tell you for sure.

It sounds like you may have endometriosis. If that is the case you'll need to have it treated with a contraceptive regime of your gyno's recommendation. If left unattended it can cause infertility and the fusing of internal organs. Please seek gyno help as soon as possible to analyze this. Infertility would be a blessing for me but for you it sounds as if it would be a curse.

It could be something as simple as ovarian sensitivity, pain and reactive inflammation due to the release of your eggs. It's best not to wait, though.

Ovarian cysts.
Can ovarian cysts cause mild cramping? Is this common?
