pain in my ears, face, neck and headaches.

Im 23 years old and have had the pain in my ears and face and neck and headaches for many years now. I have gone into the doctor time after time for ear pain. The pain is getting so bad. I hate having to always carry some type of medication with me and losing my mind when I dont have anything with me to take when the pain starts up. I wake up in the morning ( usually after barely sleeping) with a migraine and SEVER ear and face pain. I have had 2 teeth pulled since this condition has gotten worse. I havent been diagnosed with TMJ or TMD. I thought the pain was from having a cavity or something. Everytime I go to a dr with my problem they want to pull a tooth. Im comming to the point where I cant take the pain anymore. I cant have my window rolled down in the car or even have the air on. The pain is so bad. I can only lay on my back when I am attempting sleep. New symptoms came recently. I go from perfectly fine to having a full blown cold in 30 min. I have lossed part of my ability to smell also. I have neck pain sometimes, but when i do i can barely move. Sometimes I can feel a attack comming on. My face and ear begin to hurt and my speech changes. (aquire a lisp) People can clearly tell im in pain and ask because my speech changes so much. I dont know how much more I can take of this. I have gotten Nerve blocks for days in a row just to survive pretty much. Does this sound like TMJ or TMD? I cant sleep, im very forgetfull, im always in some sort of pain. Im not enjoying my time with my new baby because of this issue. I hear the popping/clicking sometimes. I do get noise sensitive at times also. Any tips for dealing with the pain. Already have slight hearing loss in right ear due to all the pain. Tired of sleeping with a earplug and pain meds. This has happened on both sides of my face. I cant sleep the way I want to, I cant eat foods i like. Somedays I just sit in silence due to pain. I also have trouble riding plans and going under water also. People think im crazy and faking all this too. Trust me I wish I was faking with all the pain im in. I cant help but find my self clenching my teeth at times. I dont know if this has anything to do with it either but if you put a finger to my cheak you can feel a little ball and that also causes the pain to start. Not sure what that is....
Thanks for reading.

Amanda , I am new here also , my symptoms also started after three months work on my three root canal fillings etc. It first began as tinitus, which my ENT specialist wrongly diagnosed as an ear infection , then as Meniers disease . several months and many courses of Antibiotics and betastin later I am still in the same positions. I have taken the matter into my own hands. where i live people dont take TMJ seriously , they think because you dont have anything swollen then you must be just hypersensitive .
I have now made a night guard for my teeth I use hot-ice tehrapy . I excercise my jaw frequently , eat as soft a food as i can and take relaxation session regularily throughout the day and most importantly I workout , daily, . I cant say I am a 100% , not even 50% but i feel a lot better and healthier.
It sound as though you do have TMJ but you probably have some other condition as well such as cervical spine issues , and it all amounts to very similar treatments , excercise , heat and ice , anti-inflamtory drugs while there is an inflamation ,also may be some muscle relaxant , and alot of relaxation sessions . you are not alone good luck

Hi Amanda,

I have similar symptoms as you but more the dizziness and face pain. See my post "TMJ - A little help please". I lived with the intense Jaw pain for a year and then I found a chiropractor that does help alot. Yesterday I was in terrible pain, my left eye felt lazy, my face burning and my jaw aching. My nech and shoulders hurt to - most of the time. I get relief from my Chiropractor. I am not 100% but sometimes he gets me feeling half human again. I have a young daughter and I sometimes do not have the energy to play with her, I get fatugue from feeling so yucky all day. I try to push it aside and exercise does help.

I wish you luck and I hope that you can find away to get through this tough time and enjoy your child

Thanks!! I know what you mean by feeling tired. Its alot to deal with. I had horrible pain about a hr ago. Couldnt even talk it was so bad. Today I tried lazer therapy on it. Seemed to help a bit. Im going to try again tomorrow after noon. I have started exercising more lately.. Hopefully the combo helps. Smile

I know....
I get pain EVERYWHERE. Legs sometimes, arms, back, neck, stomach, hips, face, nose, ears - really EVERYWHERE. I think that it is from the stress that you put on yourself when you are not feeling well and then you become anxious.

After going to the chiro last night my back and shoulders are aching, but my jaw and face feels great! I wish that I could just be 100%.

I find that if I drink wine with dinner or when out that by the second glass I feel amazing - ZERO pain. BUT the next day the pain is 10 times worse. Do either of you find this?

I dont drink I do smoke (some times) and that definitely makes it worse, but I would have thought thats logical enough , The thing is with this condition is it is a decesnding cycle of misrey if you allow it to do so , because the jaw pain causes muscle spasm , the muscle spasm causes more jaw pain , becasue you are in pain , your anxiety is higher , causing more spasm , more pain often in other places .
