Appendix, Appendicitis, Gallbladder Disease Answer A4867
You wrote:” Current medical status: sharp pain at lower left stoumach area, stronger at times, constant pain when in seated position. long drive to work, find less pain if i lean the seat back slightly. between left hip and groin area
Current medical treatment: i have tried drinking cranberry juice and A.Z.O. thinking it may be a kidney problem. it has been a problem for 3 or 4 weeks. it seems to worsen when i drink coffee or soda.

Given the data you provided, it seems unlikely that you are experiencing inflammation of the appendix, because the appendix is on the right lower side of the abdomen. Kidney inflammation is also unlikely, because an inflamed kidney is usually accompanied with changes in urine (colour, odour, blood in urine). However, kidney inflammation can not be excluded without further diagnostic procedures. Other causes for these symptoms may include polyposis of the colon. There is also a possibility that you might be experiencing increased quantity of gases in the bowels. It is very likely if flatulence has decreased and if your job is sedentary.

You might want to see gastrointestinal specialist to determine the real cause of these symptoms and to treat or prevent the symptoms from returning.
