Q: Pain in left waist

I have been experiencing a dull ache in my left waist/back area for almost a year. Then, this past week the pain has increased to a sharp stabbing when I move in any way. When I am sitting down being still, the pain is just the dull ach, although the ache has increased at least 4 fold.

I am not sure where the kidneys are, but I take some very strong medications for other reasons and am worried these have affected my kidney. The drugs include Lyrica, Kadian, Oxy-IR, Zanaflex, and up until very recently, Topomax. Oh, I also wear Lidoderm patches at night. I am waiting to see my doctor, but there is a 2 week waiting list unless it's deemed a medical emergency to see her sooner. Should I be worried? Or should I just wait the 2 weeks and feel assured the wait won't hurt me. I'm mostly worried because the pain is increasing each day. Thank you in advance for any help. Pookie B.
