My wife had surgery about 12 days ago, L5,S1 had the disk removed and fused. The doctor said the pain is from the nerve healing because it has been pinched or pushed on. How long does this pain last?

Extremely eHealthy
It can last for quite some time, sometimes up to a year. But it will ease as time goes on.

Your wife is very, very early in her recovery and she has some very angry nerves right now. Give them some time to calm down.
