Hi, so about 4 months my teeth started feeling unclean, now this wasn't because or brushing too little, not flossing, or using mouth wash, I was brushing 3 times a day, flossing twice, and washing my mouth out with mouth wash at least once. It started as feeling unclean after about 4-5 hours of not brushing, which I just shrugged off as being normal, but throughout the month, the time it took for my teeth to feel unclean began to gradually decrease going from 4-5 hours to 3 hours to 1 hour to 30 minutes, and eventually they never stopped feeling unclean. Now around 3 months ago my bottom left wisdom tooth started to hurt, not directly on the tooth exposed to the inside of my mouth, but a pain that seemed to stem from somewhere within the gum. At first I could deal with it, but one morning I woke up and had a horrible throbbing and stinging pain in the tooth and gum. Unfortunately this was on a weekend, so I had to wait until Monday to go and see a dentist. The only thing that made it feel better momentarily was running cold water over it, and that only worked for about 5 minutes before it became unbearable again, I thought of going to the emergency room, but decided to tough it out until Monday, I didn't sleep for two days. Every 5-10 minutes I would be running cold water over my tooth to try and dull the pain. I tried every kind of numbing paste, Advil, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, different kinds of tooth paste, hot water with salt, nothing seemed to make it even remotely better. Ok so on Monday I went to the dentist, they gave me an X-ray and checked for a cavity, both seemed fine, and they could not seem to figure out what was wrong with the gum or tooth. They decided to send me to a oral Surgeon, now during this time, I was in the worst pain of my life, I think I was probably quite a driving hazard to other people on the road. When I arrived at the oral surgeons office, he could not figure out what was wrong with the tooth or gum either, so being that it was a wisdom tooth, we decided on him just pulling it out. That worked, but I never figured out what was actually wrong with my tooth or gum. Now about 3 months later, it seems like the same type or unclean feeling is starting to occur again. I'm not sure if it is the same thing or not, but I would love to know if anyone has some insight into what they think it might be and what I could do to stop it from going to the extreme situation where I'm in agony and having to get my tooth pulled. The tooth that I'm feeling it on the most I think is either the second premolar or the first molar, so it wouldn't be as easy to get pulled and fixed as a wisdom tooth is. Sorry for the extremely long post, trying to put in as much information as I could to help with a diagnosis of my problem. Any help at all would be wonderful.
