Hi and welcome to the forum! I am glad that I can help you.
You want to know whether the pain that you experience may be due to tearing of the mesh.
During hernia repair surgical mesh is placed between the muscles and the subcutaneous tissue. Its purpose is to provoke inflammation by irritation of the near tissues. As a result of this inflammation a fibrous tissue is formed which strengthens the muscles. Postoperative, individuals may experience pain in the area of the incision due to the irritation that the mesh causes on the near tissues.
Given the data that you described, it is not likely that you experience the pain due to tearing of the mesh. You may need to avoid any physical activity that causes an increase of the abdominal pressure such as pushing or weight lifting, to avoid reappearance of the hernia.
