Q: Pain for first time

I've had TMJ for about 2 years. Has always been just ear symptoms, on one side - ear congestion and ringing in ear. Was at first alleviated by wearing a splint at night, but then that stopped working. Since having my last baby, 7 months ago, it has got progressively worse - started to get backache, headache, general feeling of disorientation, tingly fingers etc. Eventually I did a lot of research and starting following the Egoscue exercise plan (nothing strenuous, all gentle stuff for posture), plus started taking magnesium supplements and also doing daily gentle TMJ exercises, just gentle stretches, as recommended by dentist, plus relaxation and eating a soft diet. What I don't understand is that, since starting all this, about a month ago, the congestion in my ear has improved a lot (which is great) but I have, for the first time, started to get real jaw ache - sore feeling right in the joint, all day, and on both sides, which I never had before and which pain killers don't help. I know that all my efforts are doing something, but I am now worried that I'm making it worse! Just wondered what others thought?
