I have had dicomfort and pain in my throat for almost 10 week now, it is non stop, it starts off mild in the morning and gets worse as the day goes on, it's a tightness and it feels like the lump you get in your throat after you've had a good cry, only it does not go away. A throat specialist told me it looks like I have a reflux problem, he put a camera in my nose and said the back of my voicebox is very red and he is sending me in for a swallow test, but it will be almost 2 months before I see him for the follow up. In the meantim he never gave me any advice on how to get relief for this problem, what can I take? and how long will it take to kick in? Please help me, I don't know what to do.
Thanks for your reply, the swallow test is in a couple of weeks and that's suppose to tell me if it's a reflux problem and if it is'nt then I guess I'll see what the doctors next step is in finding out what is going wrong.
I have the exact same problem, the swallow test showed no evidence of acid reflux, there are some cuts in my stomach lining and the specialist insists that it's acid reflux, Ive taken the best and newest meds and none of them work, it's been a year now and I am still in constant pain in my throat only it's gradually getting worse, I'm seeing another doctor and he says it may be something else and sent me in for another swallow test today to rule that out....lets stay in touch, maybe we can get to the bottom of this between the 2 of us.
I know how frustrating this is, it's been a year for me, I'm so scared that so much time has gone by and still no answers. lets stay in touch and please let me know what your next step is and I will do the same.
