Q: Pain around belly button following gallbladder surgery

I had a lap cholecystectomy a week ago. When I took the bandage off covering the belly button area the actual surgical site it looked fine but there is something sticking out of my belly button. It looks like a skin marble or like I have an "outie" kind of. I'm concerned that I might have a skin infection. There is a small yellow area next to this "small skin marble." But since then I have been having a really bad burning pain above my belly button. Somethimes it is sharp and stingy. I haven't had a fever. I have had a few bowel movements since the surgery, with the help of Miralax. What could this be?

I had the same thing and went back to the surgeon. He said it was nothing and stuck a needle in it and got a small amount of fluid out. It went right back to normal on its own but it was sore for a few weeks or so. The problem i have is that right where the incision was made near the gallbladder I have pains. It radiates around to my side and is quite painful sometimes. The DR. said it was scar tissue rubbing on the diaphragm. I had a full blown exam and sonogram of the area and it was all good. Dr. gave me some muscle relaxers and they helped but when I stopped taking them it came back. A lot of people complain of this pain and it seems to be unexplained.
