Hello, I need some advice. I have been on pain management for two years. I had back surgery on L5-S1. I have permant damage to my nerves. Included is the sciatica. Now the L4-L5 is blown out. More pain and more problems. I have been on morphine, percocet, fentynal. i have withdrawal symptoms everyday. Now I am on 30mg of percocet every 6 hours, If I am as little as 1 hour late i start having withdrawal symptoms. I have been through them many times.I was wondering if i am a candidate for methadone since it has a half life. So if dont have a pill with me i will have some timebefore withdrawal. i am thinking about this because the withdrawal symptoms i have Is severe. It makes my blood pressure just soar. It is every day this happens and my doctor has put me on blood pressue meds and when I am having symptoms my blood pressue is still 165/105. I was thinking methadone will help with the pain as well as keep the blood pressure from being so irregular. I am only 34 yrs old and I want to live to see my kids have kids. with the fluctuation in the blood pressure all the time like this it cant be good for me at all. I am looking for any advice that anybody may have . Thank You Mr Pain

Mr Pain,
I have been on percocet or oxycodone since 1991 because of back surgeries and also bone tumor surgeries. You should be very concerned about taking 30 mg of percocet every 6 hours. You'll need a liver transplant. The tylenol that is in percocet is very toxic. And I don't really think your having withdrawals after only six hours. It takes days for the drug to get out of your system, then the withdrawals start. I think your just having chronic pain symptoms. I deal with pain 24/7 and I know just what your going through. You should also be on blood pressure pills if your bp is that elevated. Does your doctor know all your going through?
