Q: Pain and swelling in neck and groin

Hi im 25 and am generally a very healthy person. 2 weeks ago I had pain under my arms and noticed bruising as if someone had grabbed me under the arms very hard which is still visible. I now have swelling in the front of my neck just above my collar bones and its tender to touch. It hurts to swallow and raise my head also. A day after this started I began getting a throbbing pain in my groin and have a lump on either side. I have been getting a lot of headaches and been very tired but thought it coincided with starting my new job so didnt take any notice untill now. The pain is gradually getting worse and I am worried about the swelling in my throat. Thyroid conditions are very prevalent in my family although I dont think that's what this is.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou.

You may have enlarged lymph nodes in these areas (although, since I cannot examine you, this suggestion is based solely upon the description that you have provided). Most of the time, this is caused by benign conditions (especially when the lymph nodes are tender). However, lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph nodes, can also cause multiple enlarged lymph nodes.

It would be best for you to visit a physician for further evaluation.
