Q: Pain after Shoulder Arthroscopy

In August I had a bone spur removed from my right shoulder via arthroscopic day surgery. My doctor had told me to expect about 4-6 weeks recovery as it was a mild procedure. I recovered full mobility within 2-3 weeks post surgery, however the pain level has actually gotten worse since about 2 weeks after surgery. I am 12 weeks out now and the doctor told me to stop any PT and just ride it out. I feel however that the pain is continuing to get worse. It has spread to underneath my armpit and across my back. The chronic pain has left me constantly run down and tired and I am eager to get back to my active lifestyle. Does this length of recovery sound normal for the procedure I had, or should I be looking for a second opinion at this point?

My husband had scar tissue problems on his left shoulder after his surgery, for a few months...He finally just worked it out himself...Shoulder surgeries are rough...Probably one of the most painful of them all....Good luck...
