A little background first. My name is Jason, I am 19 years old. And this morning I had to have a root canal done on a VERY infected tooth. my dentist wouldn't touch this one and sent me to an endodontist to have it done. Total appt. time was probably about 2 hours. When I was all done he told me to take some motrin once the numbing medication wore off. So that's what I did. only as it wore off, the pain grew more and more intense. And now it is just THROBBING and I can hardly take it. I can't even think about sleeping like this. I took 3 tylenol PM about an hour and a half ago...and still no relief. I also take tramadol for a back injury and I took 200mg and it didn't help either. Also my gum really swelled up and even my cheek a little bit. Should I call the endodontist tomorrow and see if he can call in prescription pain medicine? Or do they not do that for root canals? any FAST and all other advice is appreciated. Thanks.
