I resently went to a new dentist, after getting off my parent's insurance, and i had been with the other dentist since i was very young, he was my only dentist. I went to a new one b/c my old dentist wasn't in my network, and i was afraid i would have to pay a ton more through him. anyways, i started at my new dentist, and went in for my first cleaning in i believe late march, early april, ( i was due for my last cleaning in may of 07, i turned 23 in april of 07, so i was off my parents insurance), and they are brand spanking new, i think they opened in oct of 07 or something. They took xrays, etc, and took pictures with this camera so i could see my teeth.
My old dentist does have all of this "technology"
anyways, they said i had some cavities developing under my fillings, which i guess happens? so i went back 2 weeks later and had 5 done on my right side, leaving me numb for 8 hours, i could only half smile. =/ it hurt to bite on anything on that side until today, so he grinded it down a little bit. So well see after all the pain meds wear off if it helped.
i went back today for i think 3-5 more, im not quite sure. on the left side. Which, may i add, after i got the first shot of numbing stuff, my left eye went crazy, i started seeing double, and it was very bright, and my eyes were very sensitive. Im only concerned of this b/c im having all these weird reactions ive NEVER had. he said there are bunch of nerves, so he may of hit them. So i sat for like 5-10 min and my eye eventually focused. Then he tells me i need a crown on 2 teeth, one is almost all cavity, now, all filling, the other has decalcified or whatever, along the base, which they say i cant fill on the sides, which makes since.
So, im just posting to see if this seems likely, for all of this work needing to be done, making sure its good for me, and not saying im being taken advantage of, but just want to make sure its legit. All and all, i have paid about 300$ for all of it, w/ the rest paid through insurance. and part B question, do crowns hurt? i know not anywhere near as much as root canals, so ive heard.

any help would be appreciated

thanks
