Q: Pain after gastric bypass surgery

My son and I are both getting ready to undergo gastric bypass in a few weeks. The doctors told us that we will be ok to do it the same day and that we will be fine. I need advice as to how much pain to expect in the few days after surgery and how long it will last so I can know what to expect since it will be both of us. Also if anyone has any advice about doing it the same day.

Thank you so much!

Kim

The most intensive pain is expected to be felt during the first three days as long as you are suppose to stay in the hospital.
You'll be given drugs for pain management.
Usually, people return to normal daily activities after the first two weeks.
It's good to know, that some complications and need for reoperation are possible after gastric bypass.
