In some cases, the pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is due to recurrent infection with certain agents. If you experience the symptoms of PID too often, you might reconsider if you solved the infection with medications at all. It is not uncommon for the symptoms of an infection to relieve, and a certain number of the bacteria that caused the inflammation still to be viable. You might want to have a vaginal swab and/or urine culture after each treatment to be sure you removed the bacteria completely.
