Q: Ovulation-type pain and bloating

Hi,

I am a healthy, 34-yr-old, with regular cycles, etc.

In the past few years I have experienced very heavy-but brief-periods and was diagnosed with adenomyosis and a small uterine fibroid (~ 3 cm). I also have IBS.

I have always experienced lower abdominal discomfort, bloating, some light bleeding and increased discharge when ovulating...but usually the pain and bloating only lasts approx 12-24 hours.

I am concerned at the moment because the mild pain (more tender upon palpation) and moderate/severe bloating symptoms have not subsided since my last ovulation approx 4 days ago.

I don't know how long I should wait before requesting a pelvic US, etc?

The bloating is very uncomfortable but the pain is pretty mild. Pain is in lower left abdomen.

Unfortunately I don't have medical insurance until Feb. 19th so not sure how safe it is to wait until then?

Thanks,
A
