Q: Ovulation early in cycle

Ok. So here is a weird one.

I have been trying to conceive for 6 cycles now. The last three months we have been monitoring fertility with OPK tests and watching cervical fluid. The OPK tests have been in sync with the cervical mucous and I have ovulated around day 13 of my cycle all three months.
This past month, my period started with some light spotting about three days early. I had two days of “medium” flow and then it spotted for another 3 days or so before finishing. It was very weird (I am usually so normal) so I took a pregnancy test but it came back negative.
On day 8 of my cycle (just finished bleeding by three days) I had very good clear and stretchy cervical mucous. I took an OPK and it came back negative. Weird because the mucous was so early in my cycle and also because I did not test positive with the OPK.
I didn’t test on day 9 and day 10 but my mucous was still very good – clear and stretchy.
I tested on day 11 and got a negative test again (I guess I could have ovulated on day 9 or 10 but it just seemed so early!!! So I didn’t’ test).
Tested again on day 12 and my breasts are extremely sore. I no longer have clear stretchy mucous . I feel like I actually ovulated already on day 9. Is this possible? Can ovulation occur so early in the cycle? Does anyone know? And why would that particular month vary from all the other months when I normally have such a regular cycle? Luckily I have been having sex regularily outside of ovulation dates, so fingers crossed I got knocked up anyway – but technically I am “supposed” to be ovulating tomorrow according to the “rules” and I have not gotten a positive OPK test yet.

Sore breasts, high cervix, not clear CM on day 9. Have I already ovulated?
