1. How long is your cycle typically? For a normal woman, a cycle is 28 days. She ovulates approximately 14 days before the beginning of her period. Sperm can live in the body for up to 5 days, and sometimes in rare cases even 7 days. This means that the beginning of a woman's fertile period can typically be as early as 7 days after her period begins. If your period is 5 or 6 days and you had sex a few days after it stopped, it is definitely possible to become pregnant.
That being said, every woman's body is different and you never know how each cycle could be. It is even possible to get pregnant on your period, although rare.
2. Most women don't begin to experience symptoms until they have enough hormones to produce a positive result on a home pregnancy test, about 14 days after having sex. Some women don't experience any symptoms at all, however. You may experience symptoms like fatigue or sore breasts slightly earlier than your missed period, but symptoms usually aren't noticeable until after.
