i'm having a really hard time getting this problem solved so please help me!

i tried to use my BC pills for emergency contraception since I was afraid the pills didnt work since i was taking a long-term antibiotic. turns out long term antibiotics have no effect on the pill.

i took WAY too many pills, even more than suggested (around 30).
Got these weird blue veins in my nipples a few days later.
Got a heavy period a week later.
Got my regular period during my placebo week.

had 3 negative pregnancy tests (2 doctor administered)

BUT THE VEINS HAVE NOT GONE AWAY!!
this continues to worry me, since i can only find blue veins being attributed to pregnancy.

please help mee!!

Ok, ease up girl :-)
Well birth control pills are really strong and full of lots of hormones, enough to make your body think its pregnant so that you don't actually get pregnant... I'm surprised you haven't been throwing up by taking that many! When I take more than one in 12 hours I throw up all night... You need to stop taking so many first of all. Birth control doesn't actually work as an emergency contraception, you need to look into the Plan B pill for that.. Please be careful! You're probably putting your body into a lot of stress. Those pills are made to only be taken once a day!

Seeing your veins isn't really a bad thing and is pretty normal. Everybody has them in their breasts and nipples, some are just more noticable than others. You probably just noticed them because you're panicked about pregnancy and hormones.

And you can take your birth control pills as EC, but you did go a little overboard taking so many. Your periods are probably going to be a little irregular for awhile and

thanks for the responses, i really appreciate it. Smile

i did see a doctor, 3 times, and apparently everything is fine. She did not notice any veins in my breasts but i was kinda cold which makes them go away (sorry, TMI).

i've heard a spike in estrogen can cause your veins to become bigger, and could having used my estrogen-progestin pills have caused this?

the thing is, they come and go. it kinda keeps worrying me...

You just mentioned one reason why your veins are there and then later aren't-- your temperature! Wink

I really wouldn't worry about it-- just start taking your pills as directed and never take more than directed when using them for EC (though this was kind of a weird situation and probably won't happen again).
