Greetings from Scott and Sigi !

As it's been a year since I've logged on I felt the sudden urge to update everyone, especially the friends I made on here so long ago.

Up until about nine months ago I had what's called Selective Mutism which can be defined as a childhood anxiety disorder in which a person who is normally capable of speech is unable to speak in given situations, or to specific people (thank you Wikipedia). Thanksgiving Day 2008 I finally got sick enough of all the ridicule and whispers behind my back and decided to break free from my ten-year-old shell to propose to my girlfriend (she said yes!). Ever since then I've been seeing a speech therapist three times a week though still continue to have days where I feel like bottling up my words but I refuse to any longer. My girlfriend has been at my side continuously and though we haven't yet been married due to finances we never lose hope of saying our "I do's."
Currently I'm employed at a small hotel in Upstate New York as a front desk clerk by night and by day I attend classes at the local community college to (hopefully) become a high school English teacher though I just started. My English has improved enough to the point where I can be considered fluent therefore I no longer need to take English classes. Sigi and I have our own apartment with neighbors whom I love visiting with because they let me talk as much as I like (they're older folks and enjoy the company). So other than all that life seems pretty good! I'll try my best in remembering to log on more often, even if it is only once a week, and sorry for losing contact with those that helped me the most (dyan as I recall). I really did appreciate it!

-Scott
