I have an EXTREMELY overactive bladder, I am peeing high amounts of water every 1-2 hours .. and It's just water. That's it, there isn't even any urine there really, It's just water and I'm having no pain or burning sensations. I drink after every time i urinate - cuz I am loosing so much. And I am also very dehydrated. I don't have diabetes (I checked my sugar yesterday it was 9Cool and I have been under EXTREME amounts of stress and nervousness, could that possibly be causing it? baffle Please help I can't stop urinating and It's really bugging me (as odd as that sounds) Rolling Eyes

God Bless,

Most bladder control problems happen when muscles are too weak or too active. I'd suggest that you keep a bladder diary.

You can then seek help from a medical specialist - talk with your doctor or nurse. S/he will ask you about your general medical history, including any major illnesses or surgeries. You should talk about the medicines you take, both prescription and nonprescription, because they might be part of the problem. You should talk about how much fluid you drink a day and whether you use alcohol or caffeine. Give as many details as you can about the problem and when it started.

You might also be asked to take a pad test (to check for leakage), a physical exam, and a pelvic exam. The physical exam usually includes an assessment of the nerves in the lower part of your body.

Either way, get it checked out!

I have this problem, but with me it's only when I drink. I find that liquids of any sort seem to go straight through me. Otherwise I still need to go but it's only very small amounts. I was diagnosed with OB two years ago
Hmmm. How much are you actually drinking a day?

If you are loosing that much water they might put you on antidiuretics. I agree with fickle, definately go and get it checked!

I too have got this problem of passing more out than I put in. I only drink 4-5 cups of drink per day and still end up passing 3-4 times the amount that I input and I also go 4-5 times a night which is seriously disrupting my sleep. I am not leaking or anything just got frequency and an 'urge'/full bladder feeling but don't have to rush to go to the toilet as I don't leak.

My doctor and gynacologist have no idea what is wrong with me. They have ordered a urodynamics test.

I have considered not drinking at all but I would end up sriuosly ill but this has been getting me down for some time now and doctors don't understand what it's like to be ill like this all the time, day in day out.

I do wonder if frequency and large amounts can be a sign of something to do with the kidneys but I'm not sure.

Yeah thats the same problem I have. But with me it's not every time I drink, just MOST times, but it's very unpredictable.
I don't understand 1, how it goes through me so quickly, or 2, how I manage to pee about three or four times the amount I thought I had drunk! baffle

I was diagnosed with Overactive Bladder but I thought overactive bladder only affected the spasming of the bladder, and not how much urine was produced?

The fact that urine is produced in large amounts maybe makes me think I might possibly be a kidney issue and not entirely Overactive Bladder? I don't know, what do you think?

I've seen three doctors and a urologist and none of them can tell me what's wrong either, the urine sample was cleared both times.

DS, don't stop drinking, as you say it would probably make you ill, I tried it, because I was sick and tired, and it's not good :S I found it actually made the feeling worse, it makes the urine more concentrated and then it's likely to cause irritation as well.
But if it is any consolation I know EXACTLY how you feel, it is really frustrating because no-one seems to understand the problem or how embarassing it is! protest

How much do you actually drink? Have you tried drinking cranberry juice?
I've found that sometimes helps.

Hi, GreyWolf. Smile

I have found that my bladder is like that most times without drinking too but if I do drink it just makes it far worse and it is unpredictable. I don't completely know when I need to go as my 'urge'/full bladder sensation just confuses me into thinking I need to go but I don't. The only thing that helps me to decipher when I need to go is the fact that the 'urge'/full bladder feeling gets much more painful and pronounced than usually.

I too, thought overactive bladder was just to do with spasms.

I am going to ask my doctor again about the fact I'm not happy and am outputting more than I am inputting and see what he suggests as there's got to be a reason for why we are outputting so much and they just need to order tests for us instead of just coming up with excuses just to get us out of their office. I still think it could be a kidney issue that's why I'm so worried about mine now as the so-called healthcare professionals are not taking a blind bit of notice to the fact it could be to do with the kidneys. I'm not entirely sure if it's a kidney issue but otherwise...where is all our output coming from if we aren't inputting it?

I drink about 4-5 good full mugs of drink a day at the moment and have been told by my doctor to take cranberry capsules as he said that cranberry juice drink will make it worse.

I did, at first drink a cup of cranberry juice per day to prevent and clear the infection that I had up.

I don't want to stop drinking as I could very well end up in hopital and my mom will not be very happy with me if I do that but I have felt at times that it is the only way to show just how desperate I am to be normal again.

I'm going back to my doctors tomorrow to get my urine dipsticked again to see if the infection is still gone and I'll let you know of the outcome. I daresay they won't do anything much - they didn't before - just sent me out again and said that it looks fine.

Thanks for your help and advice, GreyWolf and I hope I have been of some help so far. Smile
