Shocked

I have been treated with Detrol LA for about 3 months. Before this I had a bladder infection that cleared up but the urgency and pressure never did. The Detrol worked for a while, but now I feel like I have to pee even though I just did. The worst of this is that I feel like I'm going to have panic attacks throughout the day because I am afraid this will go on forever. I made an appointment with my doctor, but can't get in for 2 months.

Has anyone else ever experienced the anxiety with these disorders?

Thank you so much. Teralynn

Hi

Sorry you are going through this. Anxiety will add to the urgency to urinate.
Your doctor might need to adjust the dose of the Detrol LA or change to another bladder controlling medication.

Are you going to urologist?

Thanks for your post. I am seeing a new urologist. He did prescribe Vesicare, but I am just waiting for it to work.

Wish me luck.

I have been where you are. If you drink caffeine it will also make it much worse. It is possible to retrain your bladder so that you will only have to go every 3-4 hours. It takes a lot of the anxiety away. It does take a few months of being persistent and on schedule. Maybe you should do some research on it and see if you would want to try it.

Over Active Bladder concerns...
I have had surgery to correct something related to my overactive bladder but it still persists now. THe doctor told me that might happen. It is so hard to stay away from caffeine, chocolate, soda, tomatoe sauce, citrus fruits;etc. Detrol LA seems to be the best one so far, too, but it doesn't control it very much.
