My wife (38-years-old) was complaining of ovary pain and lower, left-side abdomen pain that wrapped around to her back. Has had it for about 2 weeks. She went for an MRI, and the nurse told her the results were a "bad uterus that was not sloughing off." There was no discussion of endometriosis, cancer, cysts or anything. She was given a low-dosage of birth control pills and pain medication.

She has been off birth control pills for about 6 months, and said her period bleeding lately was very minimal. She really doesn't want to go back on them, and doesn't feel that this diagnosis was correct. She's thinking of getting a second opinion.

Can anyone add anything to help explain this situation?
