Ovulation and Ovaries Answer A6084

Ovarian cysts can be divided into two categories: functional (not considered pathological) and pathological cysts. The functional cysts include: Graafian, Luteal and Hemorrhagic. All of them can appear because of specific abnormalities related to releasing the egg from its follicle. Certain of the cysts can cause pain, but others (3/4 of Graafian cysts) produce no symptoms at all.

Exact data about the hormonal blood test might have been helpful. Sometimes certain other hormones (thyroxin, testosterone) and not the female sexual hormones might cause irregular periods and ovarian cysts.
If not done, you might want to check the mentioned hormones above and have adequate treatment.
