Hi everyone,
I was on the pill for about 8 yrs and recently about 11 months have been off it. I noticed around the time of ovulation that I have a dull ache in my right lower abdomen, probably my ovary, near my hip bone. This month I have had this ache for about 2 weeks straight when I move on that side or get up or down. Is it a cyst? It doesnt hurt a lot, but still is making me a little worried? Should I wait and see if it goes away? When I press on it for 10 seconds or more it hurts a little, but I dont feel any swelling.

Cysts sometimes hurt - but not always. Clinical specialists can diagnose an ovarian cyst via pevlic ultrasound or Laparoscopy. I'd suggest that you see a gynecologist to follow up.

If you're in your childbearing years or past menopause, have no symptoms, and have a fluid-filled cyst, you may choose to monitor the cyst. You may need surgery if you have pain, are past menopause or if the cyst does not go away. Birth control pills can help prevent new cysts, which you've already experienced.

Good luck and let us know the results!
