my wedding date is coming up in 4 weeks and will be at the same time my period is due, so my dr. prescribed lo/ovral so i could skip. i've taken ortho-tricyclen a few years ago and had bad side effects - lots of bloating and breast tenderness, quick weight gain. haven't started the lo/ovral yet, am hoping i'll just be late in april so everything would shift and not have to take it, but has anyone taken both these pills and could compare their experience for me? thank you!!!

All types of contraceptive pills have similar side effects so, although Ortho-tricyclen and Lo/ovral are different drugs, they can have the same side effects.

Sometimes, the occurrence of side effects depends not only on the medicine but also on the person who takes it.
